Champions!

I was looking back over my blog and realized I hadn't posted much about James in a long time. It was definitely time to write something, and his football season is certainly something worth writing about!
He had an AWESOME first season playing football. It was a huge time commitment with practices 3-5 days a week at 2-3 hours a day, plus games on Saturdays. And it started in July and didn't end till the middle of November. Whew! But it was so worth it! James enjoyed every minute is already looking forward to next season!
The 5th/6th grade team he was on had super coaches who really knew what they were doing. Most of the other kids had been playing since 3rd grade (which is as early as they can play), so James was the new guy, but he jumped right in and worked hard and made starting positions almost every game. He mostly played on defense (I can't remember the exact position name since I am not a football expert), but he did have the opportunity to learn some other positions on offense as well.

It was such a great experience for him and we are thankful we finally signed him up this year. And the highlight of it all was that his team went undefeated and won the championship!

We are so proud of how hard he worked and the enthusiasm and good attitude he had about it all. Even Ellie and Hannah had so much fun cheering him on at the games. Can't wait for next year!
